Connect your own AI (Claude, ChatGPT, or a local model)

Unlock the AI features with Pro, then run them on your own Claude or ChatGPT key — or a self-hosted model. Your data goes straight to your provider.

1. Unlock the AI features.The AI features come with Pro — €5 a month or €99 once. Everything else in Pocket CVI stays free forever.
2. Get a developer key.Create an API key at console.anthropic.com (Claude) or platform.openai.com (ChatGPT). Note: a Claude Pro/Max or ChatGPT Plus subscription is not an API key — you need a developer key with its own pay-per-use billing.
3. Paste it into Settings → AI.Each provider has its own section. Save & Verify checks the key and even detects an empty credit balance before you hit it mid-task.
4. Switch one on.Both keys can be stored side by side, but exactly one drives the AI features at a time. Flip the Use switch — or pause AI entirely without deleting anything.
5. Pick your quality.Best Quality writes with Claude Opus or GPT-5; Fast & Cheap uses Claude Haiku or GPT-5 mini. Either way a typical request costs a few cents at most.
6. Look for the sparkle.Every AI-enhanced surface carries a ✨ marker — accented when AI is on, gray when a key would make it better.
