About Pocket CVI

Pocket CVI is a native macOS color picker and brand-kit manager. Pick any pixel on screen with a magnifier loupe, import an entire brand from its website, and keep colors, logos, fonts, documents and notes together in kits that sync across your Macs. The core app is free forever and works offline. Pro adds five AI features on your own key (Claude, ChatGPT or self-hosted) plus two local pro tools: design-manual generation and swatch export.

Pocket CVI is a native macOS app for people who work with brand colors every day: designers, developers, marketers and brand owners. Instead of five browser tabs, a notes document and a screenshots folder, it keeps a company's whole visual identity — colors, logos, fonts, documents and rich-text notes — in one window, organized as brand kits.

The picker is the signature feature: press Ctrl-Cmd-Shift-P anywhere on the Mac and a round magnifier loupe follows the cursor. One click captures the exact pixel as HEX, RGB or HSL, on any connected display, with continuous picking to grab a whole run of colors. Two automatic collections do the housekeeping: Recent gathers what you pick, and Clipboard captures color values you copy in other apps.

Building a kit can start from a URL. Point Pocket CVI at a website and it imports the brand: colors named by their role, logos at their highest resolution, the site's webfonts and a full-page screenshot. From any kit it generates a multi-page A4 design manual, checks WCAG-style contrast, and exports swatches for Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Keynote or a codebase. Kits sync between Macs through the user's own iCloud — files included — and travel as single .pocketcvi files.

Everything that doesn't call an AI model is free, forever — no account, no watermark, no collection limits — and the core app works fully offline. Pro (€5/month or €99 once, three-day trial without a card) is more than AI. It adds five AI features — written brand descriptions, official brand-guide scouting, palettes from a written brief, AI color naming, and premium AI-typeset design manuals — and two local pro tools that need no key and no network: design-manual generation and swatch export for Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, PowerPoint, Keynote and code. The AI runs on the user's own Anthropic or OpenAI key, or a self-hosted model such as Ollama; Nullbase never proxies requests or adds a markup.

Pocket CVI is made in Denmark by Nullbase, is signed with an Apple Developer ID, notarized by Apple, and updates itself.
